Interesting fact of a cheetah?

Everyone knows that the cheetah is fast. I think the most interesting fact is that the world's cheetah population went through a bottleneck several thousand years ago. This means that the population of cheetahs got so low that they nearly went extinct. The population recovered, but since there were so few animals for a while, the population suffered a high level of inbreeding. This resulted in a loss of genetic diversity that has made it very difficult to help cheetahs back from the current decline in population.
