Is musicians enduring fame a result of marketing or genius?

hmmm good question, i believe that it is a mixture of the two of course, no one would get anywhere without talent. mozart is a great example of someone who was pushed from a early age and had talent and his family had good roots and contacts and would not have had the talent in the first place without those contacts or the pushy father. the marketing was probably the most important ingredient for his fame but in the long run its obviousness his talent that will be remembered
